With Easter upon us so does the chocolate! These natural chocolate treats are gluten and dairy free and can easily be made vegan! Try a more natural and healthier choice this Easter.
Healthy Chocolate Recipe:
Gluten free, dairy free, vegan (unless using honey)
- 3/4 cup cacao butter
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup raw cacao powder
- 1/4 cup carob powder
- 2 tablespoons of rice malt syrup/ honey OR 2 tsp green leaf stevia powder
*** Optional Toppers: seeds, cacao nibs, sultanas, roasted coconut, goji berries, nuts
On a pot on the stove, melt the cacao butter and add the salt
Once melted, remove from the heat Sift in the cacao powder and carob powder and use a whisk to combine.
Finally, add the sweetener of choice and whisk together.
(BONUS step: to get a smooth consistency give it a quick whizz in the blender) The result should be a liquid to fudge like consistency of chocolate!
To set, pour onto a lined baking tray or silicon muffin/ chocolate mould and place into the freezer to set
***Side note: for optimal freshness I recommend keeping these in the freezer right up until you eat them
*** To make 'white chocolate' omit the carob and cacao powders, and add in 1 heaped teaspoon of maca powder
