If you're a regular at the
gym you've probably found yourself waking up the next morning with muscle aches
from yesterday’s session. Giving 100% on that incline run, or that PB attempt
at your dead-lift seems like a good idea at the time but climbing stairs now
feels like climbing a mountain and you may have some slight regrets.
So what can you do? The good news is there is a way to ease your suffering!
Recent studies have shown that massage can significantly help reduce muscle aches (Nunes, 2016). Massage has also been shown to help with muscular fatigue following a workout as well (Rinder & Sutherland 1995). So you can back up your heavy weights session with another (never skip leg day!).
So it turns out massages aren't just relaxing, they're also great at significantly improving your recovery after hitting the gym. If you would like to make an appointment to see one of our students for a remedial massage (to ease your aches) or a myotherapy consult (for those more niggling pains that are starting to hold you back), head to www.wellnationclinics.com.au or call 1300 859 785 to find out more.
